Nailed It!

Nailed It!
Due to another amazing Groupon deal... a $250 value for $59.99 for a UV nail lamp, 3 UV nail polishes, top coat, base coat, and cuticle oil.... I've started another new adventure!  Gel nails!  I am however not doing the huge clear coat on top.. it's more like a shellac look.  I really just want nail polish to stay on for a long time.  That being said of course I peeled off my first set in less than a week... BUT to my defense they were peeling on the sides..  After reading some forums on the subject I'm pretty sure I know why it was peeling and why my next set already started chipping!! Ideally you don't want to get any polish on the cuticle or skin and you actually need to paint the front edge of the nail... I feel like that is much easier said than done.
This is my third attempt at my my own gel nails.  I did end up using O.P.I. colors here which I found on Amazon.  Fingers crossed that these little puppies last!  I may or may not have ordered some brushes and other "nail art" tools for my next nail adventure :)

All things Golf and Love

All Things Golf and Love

Valentine's Day 2015.  Brad and I always do something for each other on Valentine's day.  In fact, we tend to do "more" for each other than on our birthdays since both of our birthdays are so soon after Christmas.  This year I decided to get Brad some of his favorite shorts from Lululemon and matching shirt while I was at it.  I also got him a truck load of candy.. of course.  Anyway Valentine's morning came and I set up his gifts with the card and made him breakfast.  After he opened the gift he kept saying "you got me more than I got you"... " I think I'll skip crossfit and go get you more.."  Odd right?  Bit suspicious, no?  I was 99.9% sure that meant "I forgot to get you anything.." or more likely "I was too lazy to get you anything" since I did take multiple occasions to remind him about the big day and that I had in fact already gotten his present.
After I returned from a solo crossfit trip that Saturday morning -damning him to everyone who asked where he was ;) - I found a box of chocolate covered strawberries and a dozen pink Callaway golf balls :)  Perfect for our 12:32 tee time that day at Lakeside GC in Bountiful.  I grabbed my pink balls and we headed to the course.  Once we got there Brad said he'd run in and grab us a cart if I would just take the bags out of the truck (our usual system).  So I hopped out of the truck opened the back and TADA!:
A TaylorMade RBZ driver complete with cute red bow! This is probably THE most adorable sweet thing that he's ever done for me. I still haven't mastered the art of this little puppy but like he tells me it's very forgiving.

In anticipation of my tax return...  I took the opportunity to buy a golf bag that I've been eyeing for years!  I got an email from Sports Authority for 20% off an online purchase plus free shipping off orders over $49 PLUS 5% "The League" rewards for purchases over $100 PLUS my credit union does ABC deals where you get cash back when you use your America First card at designated locations.  Sports Authority happened to be on the list of cash back stores so I will be getting 10% cash back up to $17.50 from my purchase.

Thanks to my wheeling and dealing I will have ultimately paid about $129.19 for this $189.99 bag! Still pricey but the odds of all of these deals coming to fruition at the same time again are a million to one!
AND another pricey but ultimately amazing deal that we recently invested in is a punch pass to Cranefield Golf Course in Clinton...  Before April 2015 they have all their punch passes on sale for buy one get one free!  For $450 (eek!) you get 2-40 9 hole rounds with a cart.. that's 80 9 hole rounds which ends up being $5.61 per 9 hole with cart!!  It's unheard of! AND the pass never expires so if I don't play all 40 rounds this year I'm not out anything! Special shoutout to my adorable parents who went to Cranefield yesterday to buy the passes and play a round while they were out! Welcome to Utah in February..
